Admissions Requirements

Seton Hall's M.S.N. in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program requires academic and clinical prerequisites before enrolling into the program. Requirements include:

  • Baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing from an N.L.N.A.C., A.C.E.N., or C.C.N.E. accredited program; 
  • For recent BSN graduates, acceptance will be granted post NCLEX passing by August 15th of the year admitted to the program; proof of one-year full-time employment is required prior to the start of practicum courses (year 2).

Curriculum Overview

The 42-credit M.S.N., PNP program focuses on promoting and maintaining pediatric health, as well as managing acute and chronic conditions in children.

In addition to the asynchronous online coursework, students in the PNP program complete a minimum of 540 clinical hours and are eligible to sit for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner examination.

How long will the program take to complete?

Most students complete the M.S.N.-P.N.P. program in 3-4 years.

Are there set times to attend my classes?

Not for the online course work. You will have specific assignment deadlines and test dates, but you can complete your online coursework at times that are convenient for you. Immersion experiences have a separate schedule.

Is the program accredited?

Yes. The M.S.N-P.N.P. program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
