Jennifer McCarthy MAS, NRP, CHSE-A, FSSH serves as the Director of Simulation and Clinical Associate Professor for the School of Health and Medical Sciences, Seton Hall University where she designs and delivers simulation activities for healthcare programs. She is responsible for integrating simulation activities through each curriculum and strategically facilitates the use of simulation for assessment of clinical competence and transformation of healthcare delivery. She is passionate about human-centered health care, developing experiences where students can develop humanistic communication skills and clinical decision-making skills. She has over 30 years of experience as a hospital-based paramedic in New Jersey where she has been employed in various geographic areas and health systems. Jennifer holds many positions with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Internal Relations Committee, a voting member of the Meeting Oversight Commission (MOC) and an accreditation site reviewer and team leader. Jennifer has earned the distinguished credential of Fellow in the SSH Academy, Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator – Advanced (CHSE-A) which are both bestowed on less than 120 simulationists globally. She was named one of the Top 17 People to Watch in Healthcare (201 Magazine, January 2015) and has received the EMS Career Lifetime Achievement Award (November 2015).
