About Residents Assistants


The Resident Assistant (RA) is a part-time, paraprofessional staff member of the Department of Residence Life. Resident Assistants live and work in our Residence Halls, providing support, mentorship, and engagement to their peers.

Responsibilities include:

  •   Engagement

    • Engage with the residents on your floor
    • Help connect peers to campus resources

  •  Community

    • Create fun and engaging bulletin boards
    • Host programs in your building

  •  Safety

    • Coordinate with Senior Staff and Public Safety to ensure security in the halls

Benefits include:

    • RAs are assigned to building staffs with multiple professionals that guide and support them to reach their goals

How Do I Apply to be an RA?

Application Stage

  • Students who wish to apply to become an RA must submit the 2026-27 RA Application. 

  • RA applicants are encouraged to attend one of our RA info sessions and/or tabling events throughout the semester

  • Due Date: December 8, 2025

  • Note: No applications will be accepted after this deadline. No exceptions.

Interview Stage

  • Successful applicants undergo a two-step interview process:

    • Individual Interviews (January 19- February 4)

    • Group Process (February 7, 2026)

  • Successful applicants will be judged by their scores through all stages of the interview and application process

    • Applicants will be notified of the final status of their application by early March.
