Personal Attention
Here, you’ll join a community that knows you by name and supports you every step of the way, offering the opportunities of a top university with the personal attention of a close-knit campus.
Seton Hall offers all the advantages of a large research university — a national reputation, challenging academic programs, notable alumni, state-of-the-art facilities, renowned faculty and extensive opportunities for internships, research and scholarship — with all benefits of a small, supportive and nurturing community.
We pride ourselves on small classes and dedicated faculty members who know more than just your name. With an average class size of 21 students and a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio, our faculty make an effort to understand what matters most to you and build on your personal passions to mentor and guide you in your academic and career endeavors.
Unlike other large research institutions that often rely heavily on teaching assistants, at Seton Hall, you learn directly from accomplished faculty members who are leaders in their fields: scholars, researchers, authors, artists, filmmakers, former school superintendents and principals, nursing leaders, former ambassadors, analysts and lawmakers as well as dozens of Fulbright scholars. Using the insights and expertise they’ve gained in the field, our faculty prepare you for real-world success after college.
Unprecedented access to faculty and hands-on learning opportunities cultivate an enriching environment where students work side-by-side with educators in the classroom, in labs, in practicum and internship settings to create an immersive learning experience.
Your Supportive Launchpad
We know that the transition to college is a big step — that’s why Seton Hall offers
intentional support programs designed to set you up for success from day one.
From the very beginning, you’ll be paired with a Student Success Advisor who gets to know you personally and helps you chart a clear path toward your goals. Peer Advisors, experienced student leaders, are also available to share insider tips on everything from choosing classes to finding the best study spots and getting involved on campus.
First-Year Experience
Through the CORE 1001: University Life course, you’ll connect with peers, your Student
Success Advisor, and your Peer Advisor as you transition into college life. This first-semester
experience helps you manage time, explore opportunities like internships and study
abroad, and build a strong sense of community from day one.
Academic Resource Network
The Academic Resource Center (ARC) offers group workshops, one-on-one tutoring, and
online resources across subjects such as math, science, languages, and writing. Tutors-in-Residence
(TIRs), located in several residence halls, host lobby hours to provide convenient,
peer-to-peer academic support for both residents and commuters.
