Transformational Learning Experiences
Seton Hall is dedicated to preparing you for a successful future — in your career
and in life. Rooted in our Catholic mission, we’re committed to developing servant
leaders: individuals who are inspired to make a difference, give back to their communities
and meet every situation with kindness, and understanding.
For nearly 170 years, Seton Hall has been a place where leaders learn — a “home for
the mind, the heart, and the spirit,” as envisioned by Bishop Bayley. Guided by this
vision, we develop well-rounded leaders who are prepared to serve society. Here, learning
goes beyond the classroom: students explore, challenge, discover, question and discuss
as they connect theory with practice. Through hands-on, real-world experiences, Seton
Hall is shaping the next generation of leaders.
Students have countless opportunities to put leadership into practice — leading clubs
and organizations, writing for one of our three student newspapers, earning a four-year
leadership certificate through the Buccino Leadership Institute or exploring the sports community at the Center for Sports Media. Each experience helps you grow as a more confident leader ready to make an impact.
Seton Hall students have also:
- Conducted brain cancer research alongside faculty
- Created marketing plans for local businesses
- Run meetings at the United Nations
- Tracked and traded stocks on our mock trading room floor
- Studied Mandarin in China
- Lit up the airwaves over New York City on WSOU 89.5 FM, the nation’s #1 college radio
All of these opportunities help our students develop as leaders with skills tested,
refined and grounded in service. At Seton Hall, leadership is about serving others
and striving to make the world better. That’s the foundation of our educational experience
— creating servant leaders who learn, lead, and serve with heart, mind and spirit.
