Habitat, Seton Hall Taal, HUMED, and PRIDE Features
Monday, March 4, 2024
To close out Student Philanthropy month, this week's feature includes four wonderful organizations on our campus: Habitat for Humanity, Seton Hall University Taal, Medical Humanities Club, and PRIDE.
Habitat for Humanity is a service organization meant to build and provide affordable housing to those in need. For Student Philanthropy Month, they have held multiple tabling events to help fundraise their construction site trips out of state. On these trips, the students participate in helping to build housing for those in need.
Seton Hall University Taal is an Indian Classical Dance team who compete and perform with different dance groups. For Student Philanthropy Month, they held a Flower Gram sale and collaboration workshops with other student organizations on campus.
Medical Humanities Club is an organization whose motto is education, advocacy and outreach. They speak about complex medical topics, bring in medical professionals to speak with the students, and participate in hands-on community events. For Student Philanthropy Month, they are holding a bake sale in March in which the proceeds will be donated to local health units, including the Trinitas Regional Medical Center's CARES Program.
PRIDE is an organization where people of Seton Hall community come together in a safe space where they feel comfortable to express themselves. For Student Philanthropy Month, they are holding a Saint Patrick's Day cookie decorating contest, as well as hosting their annual Bob Ross Paint Night, in which all proceeds will be put towards the Trevor Project.
