Student Refunds
Students may be eligible for a refund when financial aid, loan credits, or personal payments exceed the charges on their student account.
Refunds from personal payments are held for up to 14 days to ensure the funds have cleared. All refunds are issued by either direct deposit or paper check.
We strongly recommend signing up for direct deposit — it’s the fastest and most secure way to receive your money.
Direct Deposit (Recommended)
Get your refund deposited directly into your checking or savings account — usually within 1–3 business days.
Sign up online in just a few clicks. Log in to the PirateNet portal → View and Pay My Bill and follow the prompts to enroll.
Why students love direct deposit:
- Manage everything yourself in PirateNet — no forms or office visits needed
- Never worry about a lost, stolen, or delayed check
- Access your money instantly through online banking, ATMs, or debit card
- Skip the trip to the bank
Paper Check
If you do not enroll in direct deposit, your refund will be mailed to the current address on file in the student system.
Important: Keep your address up to date in PirateNet. An outdated address is the #1 reason refund checks are lost or returned.
