Seton Hall Rocket League Aims for National Title in Playfly Grand Finals

Esports LabHistory is set to be made as Seton Hall University’s Rocket League team takes center stage in the Playfly College Esports Fall 2024 Grand Finals on Monday, December 2 at 7 p.m. EST. The Pirates will face Robert Morris University (RMU) in a high-stakes best-of-seven series, streamed live on Twitch. This epic showdown promises to be one of the most significant moments in Seton Hall Esports history.

RMU, a pioneer in collegiate esports, stands as a formidable opponent. As the first university to introduce varsity esports in 2014, RMU set the standard for collegiate programs. Now, Seton Hall has the opportunity to forge its own legacy in the pursuit of becoming the first-ever Playfly College Esports Rocket League National Champions.

Advancing to the Grand Finals is a remarkable achievement for Seton Hall, earning the Pirates a spot in the Tournament of Champions during May Madness Weekend. This event, which will feature the best collegiate esports programs in the nation, illustrates the team's rise to the top tier of competitive gaming and solidifies Seton Hall's reputation as a powerhouse in collegiate esports.

The emotional stakes are heightened by the journey of team captain, Kevin "Froze" Minch, who will play his final game as an undergraduate Pirate. "This is the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and support from our fans and community," Froze said. "We’re not just playing for a title—we’re playing for everyone who’s been part of this program’s journey."

Don’t miss this unforgettable showdown as Seton Hall competes for the ultimate prize—collegiate esports glory and a national title. With fans and alumni cheering them on, the Pirates aim to secure a championship victory and give Froze a storybook ending to his collegiate esports career. Watch the match live on Twitch.
