Seton Hall's K-12 Education Leadership Program Earns National Recognition

studentsThe College of Human Development, Culture, and Media has earned national recognition for its online graduate programs in K-12 education leadership, management, and policy (ELMP). The programs were recently accredited by the National Education Leadership Preparation (NELP), a distinction that places Seton Hall among the nation’s leading educator preparation providers.

"We are incredibly proud of our distinguished faculty and devoted students for achieving this significant milestone," said James A. Corino, Ed.D., professor and director of the ELMP program. "Earning national recognition from NELP affirms the rigor and quality of our curriculum, the exceptional pedagogical expertise of our professors, and the dedication of our students."

NELP accreditation is the foremost achievement for demonstrating quality and commitment to developing effective educational leaders. To maintain recognition, programs must conduct annual self-assessments to identify ways to continuously improve their offerings. This rigor ensures that the program is based on research and effective leadership practices to meet the latest needs for successful building and district-level leadership.

"Our steadfast commitment prepares visionary leaders with the knowledge, skills and ethical grounding needed to meet the complex challenges of today’s educational landscape," added Corino.

In addition to the NELP accreditation, U.S. News & World Report recently recognized Seton Hall’s online graduate education programs as among the best in the nation and within the top 10 in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT). For 2025, the programs within the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media ranked in the top 25 percent of all online graduate-level education programs in the U.S. They also earned the distinction of being third among all Catholic colleges and hold the same ranking overall in New Jersey.

The online M.A.E. in K-12 education leadership, management and policy is a nationally recognized, CAEP-accredited graduate program designed to prepare the next generation of school and district leaders. Created for working educators, this flexible, five-semester online program offers an accelerated path to earning both supervisor and principal certification in New Jersey.

The online Ed.S. in K-12 education leadership, management and policy program requires an earned master’s degree and is designed for school leaders seeking to advance their studies, pursue further certification, and as a pathway to the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree.

Learners of both programs receive one-on-one academic advising and access to individualized learning opportunities that support personal and professional growth. Courses are taught by a dedicated faculty of accomplished scholars and experienced practitioners, whose expertise bridges theory and practice in school leadership.
