Tutoring
Peer tutors are Seton Hall students who are recommended by their instructors for both their mastery of the subject matter and their capacity to collaborate with other students. Each semester, the peer tutors take part in training workshops to enhance their skills to best serve you! They can assist with the completion of assignments, help with understanding difficult concepts and provide contrasting viewpoints on the subject matter. Peer tutors aim to encourage students as they develop their ability to ask and respond to insightful questions by serving as role models for effective inquiry and learning strategies.
The ARC provides peer support for a range of topics, including biology, chemistry, nursing, accounting and economics, among others. Please check Compass for complete tutoring schedules for your courses.
Math tutoring is available through the Math Learning Lab, which is located in the ARC. Please see Compass for schedules. Language tutoring is available in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. More information can be found here.

Tutors in Residence
Tutors In Residence (TIRs) are undergraduate in-house tutors who provide support to students. The tutors are located in Boland and Aquinas Halls. Tutors in Residence are members of the Academic Resource Center staff and help to increase community throughout the residence hall. In addition, TIRs put on a series of academic programs throughout the semester.
This service is available to all residents and commuter students at SHU.
Students desiring to take advantage of the free services of a TIR should consult the semester TiR schedules located outside the tutoring rooms or email [email protected].
